Position Title: Business Development Representative

This is not a desk-bound sales role. It’s an opportunity to own a territory, build meaningful professional relationships, and become the face of a growing legal organization across the Southeast. We are seeking a Business Development Representative to develop and manage a strong network of professional referral sources across Southeast Tennessee, North Georgia, and Western North Carolina. This road-based role will focus on relationship development, community engagement, educational events, and referral pipeline management while partnering closely with attorneys and firm leadership.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed, polished relationship builder who thrives in the field, takes complete ownership of their territory, and knows how to turn consistent face-to-face engagement into long-term business relationships.

Salary Range: $65,000–$80,000 DOE, with additional performance-based bonus and profit-sharing opportunities

• Build and maintain a robust network of professional referral sources, including real estate brokers, mortgage lenders, CPAs, financial advisors, insurance professionals, senior living organizations, and other community partners
• Conduct 12–18 in-person referral source visits each week throughout the assigned three-state territory
• Coordinate and support educational presentations, lunch-and-learns, and professional events in partnership with attorneys
• Represent the organization at chambers of commerce, real estate associations, estate planning councils, community organizations, trade events and regional conferences
• Develop and manage a rolling regional event calendar while identifying valuable sponsorship and relationship-building opportunities
• Maintain accurate, timely CRM records for referral activity, contacts, events and pipeline development
• Route incoming referrals appropriately and track activity, matters opened and overall referral performance
• Provide field intelligence to the marketing team, including competitive activity, market trends and feedback from professional partners
• Support event-related content, collateral, signage and branded materials across multiple offices
• Follow all applicable professional and ethical guidelines governing legal marketing and referral development

• 3+ years of experience in outside sales, business development, or territory management
• Proven ability to build a book of business or referral network from the ground up
• Strong presentation skills and confidence speaking to groups of 20–50 professionals
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and customer service skills
• Strong CRM discipline with the ability to document activity consistently and accurately
• Ability to work independently, identify opportunities and execute without daily supervision
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle
• Comfortable traveling throughout a multi-state territory 3–4 days per week, including approximately two overnight trips per month
