Heavy Equipment Operator

OVERVIEW

Acher Western Construction is currently seeking a Pipe Layer for the WEGA/Signal Mountain site in Chattanooga, TN. The primary function is to operate a variety of heavy equipment to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building-type structures. Equipment operators are also expected to assist with other duties around the jobsite as needed and operate equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

• Operate a variety of equipment to complete tasks such as clearing land, trimming backfill, and moving and/or transporting materials such as dirt, rocks, and other aggregate.
• Have knowledge of operating procedures related to loading and unloading materials.
• Oil, grease, service, and perform normal maintenance adjustments on equipment.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
• Complete paperwork and other documentation as required.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
• Be aware of vibration and noise exposure when operating equipment.

• 3-5 years of operating experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and may be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures and communicate effectively with co‑workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly.
• Possesses a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
• Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting for long periods.
• Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screening.

• Opera una variedad de equipos para completar tareas tales como limpiar terrenos, podar relleno y mover y/o transportar materiales tales como tierra, rocas y otros tipos de agregados.
• Debe tener conocimiento de los procedimientos operativos relacionados con la carga y descarga de materiales.
• Puede engrasar, lubricar, dar servicio y hacer ajustes normales de mantenimiento al equipo.
• Realiza controles diarios de seguridad y mantenimiento.
• Completa el papeleo y otra documentación según sea necesario.
• Puede haber alguna vibración asociada con el funcionamiento del equipo; pueden producirse sacudidas y vibraciones al operar el equipo; ruido fuerte al operar el equipo.
• Puede realizar otras tareas relacionadas según sea necesario.

• Se prefiere de 3 a 5 años de experiencia operativa.
• Debe poder levantar hasta 50 libras; puede ser requerido para trabajar en varias condiciones climáticas.
• Requiere la capacidad de cumplir con todas las políticas y procedimientos de seguridad y comunicarse efectivamente con compañeros de trabajo y supervisores para asegurar que los proyectos se completen adecuadamente.
• Poseer una fuerte ética de trabajo y ganas de aprender.
• Requiere buena destreza manual;
  Se requiere estar de pie, agachado, arrodillado o sentado durante largos períodos.
• Debe poder pasar una prueba de consumo de drogas previa al empleo.
