Scaffold Builder
The Scaffold Builder role gives you the opportunity to work in the construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities- Determines type of scaffold needed.
- Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
- Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
- Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
- Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
- Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
- Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
- Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
- Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
- Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
- Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
- Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs;
work at heights; balance for extended periods of time. - Other duties as assigned.
- Full-time, 40 hours a week (4/10's).
- No per diem.
- No relocation assistance.
- Education:
no minimum education requirements. - Experience:
2-3 years as a Journeyman Scaffold Builder. - Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Company cannot sponsor employment visas.
