Bombardier Aircraft Maintenance Technician
Location:
Chattanooga, TN, USA
Full Time, On-Site
Responsibilities- Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
- Remove and install panels and components.
- Troubleshoot and problem‑solve aircraft system/component issues.
- De‑fuel aircraft.
- Engine removal and installations.
- Operate ground support equipment.
- Inspect and evaluate the aircraft and components.
- Assist with aircraft movement, performance runs, and taxiing.
- Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
- Use electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases (basic computer skills).
- Communicate effectively in English (speak, write, read).
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal, not mandatory).
- AMT I: Airframe or Powerplant license required (Airframe preferred); 0–2 years of aviation maintenance/avionics experience; supervised; limited to moderate knowledge.
- AMT II: Airframe or Powerplant license required (Airframe preferred); 2–4 years experience; general supervision; experience on corporate aircraft preferred.
- AMT III: Airframe license required, Powerplant highly preferred; 4–6+ years experience; full knowledge of general, detailed, and special assignments; experience on corporate aircraft highly preferred.
- AMT IV (Master): Airframe and Powerplant license required; 6+ years experience; extensive experience on corporate aircraft platforms; subject matter expert.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting.
- Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
- Climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas.
- Stand for long periods.
- Understand and implement regulations and guidelines.
- Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation.
- Work with others in a professional manner.
Work under the supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance; may supervise other technicians.
Working Conditions- Hangar environment with extreme temperature variations.
- Work outside during aircraft runs.
- Varied positions in and around the aircraft.
- Personal hand tools supplied by mechanic.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
- Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
- Tugs, power carts, and other engine‑powered equipment.
