Software Engineer
Join our dynamic Provider Application team at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee as an Associate Software Engineer I! In this role, you’ll assist in analyzing, triaging, developing, and implementing various application systems using .Net, C#, Rest/Web APIs, Azure Dev Sec Ops and SQL. This team directly supports our member's ability to quickly and efficiently search for doctors and other providers.
Our ideal candidates will bring:
- Experience with C#.
- Good understanding of OOPS concepts.
- Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Design Patterns is an added advantage.
Note:
- For this team, on-call rotation will be required quarterly.

While this is a fully remote role, the final round of interviews will take place onsite in our Chattanooga, TN office.
Job Responsibilities- Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate information systems
- Devises or modifies application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and form of desired results.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents programs, subroutines, and scripts.
- Maintains technical skill set for software languages, databases, platforms, operating systems, utilities and networks needed to support work assignments.
- Responds to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems.
- May conduct presentations to provide end users with knowledge to maximize their use of developed systems.
Education
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent years of experience are determined as one year of technical experience for every year of college requested.
