Senior Software Engineer – Integration

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate services for AI‑powered digital experiences
• Build, manage, and deploy web services that power AI experience
• Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact‑finding to design, develop, modify, or integrate complex information systems
• Develop or modify application systems and procedures to optimize functional requirements including capacity, operating time, response time, and desired results
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts
• Develop and implement program/system test plans
• Devise data verification methods and standard system procedures
• Respond to system failures and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems
• Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and support management in budgeting and purchasing efforts
• Act as an expert technical resource to development staff during all phases of the development and implementation process

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5 years of systems and programming experience
• 1 year of experience with information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology, and standards
• 1 year of expert working knowledge of at least one programming language in use at BCBST
• Proven technical background with a history of designing and documenting integration solutions, ensuring interoperability, security, and performance
• Proficiency in programming languages and tools relevant to integration and application development
• Experience in API design, development, and management
• Proven analysis, design, and coding skills, and demonstrated success in leading large and complex projects
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate technical and/or complex concepts into information meaningful to project team members and/or business personnel
• Be organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks with an exceptional work ethic
• Leadership skills: must communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical coworkers

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
