Transportation Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing transportation activities.

High school diploma.

Required:

1+ years of relevant experience in shipping/receiving, transportation, logistics, or a related field. Preferred: 1-2 years of relevant experience at a third‑party logistics company or carrier.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Adaptability and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• General understanding of LTL and FTL shipping practices.
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance, hazardous materials, or liquid bulk experience.

• Manage and coordinate the scheduling of Full Truckload (FTL) and Less Than Truckload (LTL) carriers for multiple company locations.
• Evaluate transportation modes for customer orders to minimize freight expense.
• Assist with spot quotes.
• Assist with route planning and scheduling for both inbound and outbound shipments.
• Track service issues for Transportation Analyst to address with carriers.
• Act as a liaison between internal teams, customers, and transportation providers to resolve issues, provide updates, and maintain a high level of service.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, routes, and transportation‑related documents such as customs paperwork.
• Identify areas for process improvement and assist with implementing transportation efficiency enhancements.
• Other duties as assigned.
