Role OverviewThe Team Lead – Receiving & Inventory is responsible for overseeing daily receiving and inventory control operations while ensuring accuracy, traceability, and efficient material flow. This role combines hands‑on warehouse execution with frontline leadership to support team performance, maintain system integrity, and uphold inventory standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Operations
- Lead, coach, and support receiving and inventory associates in daily warehouse activities
- Assign tasks, monitor workload, and ensure timely processing of inbound materials
- Train new team members on procedures, systems, and safety requirements
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑organized warehouse environment
- Escalate discrepancies, staffing concerns, or operational risks to the Warehouse Manager
Receiving & Inventory Control
- Oversee receipt of inbound shipments from suppliers and internal transfers
- Verify quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, and product condition against purchase orders and packing slips
- Ensure real‑time and accurate receipt transactions within ERP systems
- Coordinate labeling, barcoding, and proper storage of materials in assigned locations
- Support efficient inventory movement to production and shipping areas
Accuracy, Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Lead cycle counts and support full physical inventory counts
- Investigate discrepancies, damages, and inventory variances; support root‑cause resolution
- Maintain clear documentation and traceability within warehouse systems
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations experience preferred
- Prior experience leading, training, or mentoring team members is an asset
- Experience with ERP systems and barcode scanning tools preferred
Strong organizational, documentation, and inventory accuracy skills - Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in a warehouse environment
- High attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork abilities
