Job Title

Cycle Counter (M/H Cycle Counter) – Chattanooga, TN Plant Facility

Overview

This role is responsible for performing cycle counts, maintaining accurate inventory records, investigating discrepancies, and supporting shipping and billing operations within the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the integrity of physical inventory counts via cycle counting.
  • Count the warehouse, including all pick and reserve slots for discrepancies and product/packaging integrity issues.
  • Investigate causes of weight variances, receiving issues, and damaged products from warehouse moves.
  • Confirm inventory records and verify each pallet count.
  • Verify put‑away and transfer processes performed by day and night personnel.
  • Invoice shippers daily, confirm shipments, and maintain audit records for both facilities.
  • Research duplicate shipments, provide information to management, and recall shipments from carriers if necessary.
  • Identify short shipments and alert management.
  • Retrieve freight charges from TMS and communicate daily shipment dollars to management.
  • Resolve disputes by communicating with customer service and providing tracking documentation.
  • Create accurate bills of lading to ensure daily invoicing.
  • Print shippers, file documentation, and generate miscellaneous shipping memos.
  • File debit memos, update accounting spreadsheets daily, and compare hash reports.
  • Document inventory locations when counted.
  • Review standard management reports and investigate causes of inventory shrinkage.
Qualifications
  • Exemplary listening and two‑way communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic and units of measure.
  • Solid problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience with handheld scanners and inventory management systems.
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift or other equipment operation experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory scales and related tools.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and multitask independently.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent hand use, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds when necessary.
  • Close vision and color vision required.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and work in open warehouse environments subject to seasonal weather.
  • Ability to work around heavy machinery.
