Job DetailsSalary: $4,542.00 - $6,107.00 Monthly. No 5% 24/7 premium.
OpportunityAs a JRC1, you will assist counselors to provide comprehensive case management, transition and reentry planning, counseling, and treatment services while supervising an assigned caseload of youth for compliance with program and treatment plan requirements and preparing youth and families for re-entry into the community.
A Bachelor's degree or a combination of education/experience totaling at least four years will prepare you for promotion into JRC2 jobs.
Responsibilities- Assist residential counselors in assessing behavior and monitoring youth compliance with case plan and program requirements.
- Support and monitor youth participation in appropriate treatment services.
- Co-facilitate Dialectical Behavior Therapy & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy groups.
- Perform routine security duties.
- Conduct wellness checks, living unit building security checks, key checks, room searches for contraband, pat and/or strip searches of youth, assist in search and apprehension of escapees.
- Assign and supervise youth chores within a living unit to meet health and hygiene standards.
- Supervise or serve meals to resident groups; monitor movement of residents to and from central areas such as school, medical, and recreation facilities.
- Organize and supervise group recreational activities.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.
- OR two years of college education from an accredited institution AND two years of experience as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Security Officer.
- OR a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
AND
Previously demonstrated experience or understanding of:
- Treatment and intervention principles and practices.
- Ability to relate to clients from diverse backgrounds and cultural groups.
- Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences related to juvenile delinquency.
- Adolescent development and juvenile rehabilitation practices and principles.
- Providing cognitive/behavior therapeutic interventions.
- Basic juvenile correctional system, rehabilitation objectives in juvenile institutions, basic interviewing and counseling theories and techniques, basic concepts, fundamentals and principles of individual and group behaviors, introductory psychology of deviant behavior and crisis intervention methods and techniques.
