Speech Language Pathologist

This posting is for a Speech Language Pathologist for the 2026-27 school year. There are three (3) 1.0 FTE positions available and one (1) 0.5 FTE position available. Jobs open until filled with a anticipated start date of 09/01/2026.

To develop speech and language skills for students with disabilities, that interfere with an individual student's ability to access the educational program.

• Demonstrates specialized skills through a high-level knowledge in designing and conducting specialized programs of prevention, intervention, remediation and evaluation in the area of speech and communication skills.
• Serves as a resource to school staff members in communication and speech improvement.
• Assist and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language impairments.
• Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing, and language impairments.
• Provides screening to identify children with speech and language impairments at regular intervals and at specified levels.
• Assists in proper referrals of individuals to agencies and specialists in the community as appropriate.
• Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech or language impairments.
• Demonstrates management of special and technical environment through a high level of performance in managing and organizing the special materials, equipment and environment essential to the specialized programs.
• Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by suggestions for the student's daily activities.
• Provides inservice education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech improvement.
• Demonstrates professionalism and continued professional growth.
• Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services.
• Maintains lists of referred, screened, and eligible students, as well as a directory of outside agencies, consultants, specialists and related services.
• Compiles case history data on those cases where additional family history, health history, early developmental history, and environmental history are deemed appropriate.
• Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining needed equipment and supplies.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Complete work at the assigned workstation.
• Consistently deal with people in a polite and courteous manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate Certificate with speech language pathologist/audiologist endorsement.
• Hold or be able to attain CCC-SLP certification
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background clearance
• Knowledge of both verbal and non-verbal communications methods, including AAC, visuals (PECS), and voice output devices/apps (from simple to advanced).
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to work cooperatively with administration and staff.
• Valid CCC-SLP.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Prior job related experience.

• Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds, and evaluate performance.
