Our client is a hands-on job shop environment focused on one-offs, repairs, and custom work. No production line work, every day is different. Looking for a solid Manual Machinist to join the team and looking to continue their career within the Lumber and Industrial Industries!
We Are Hiring
Position: Manual Machinist
Location: Vancouver, WA
Pay: $20-$40/hour (Journeyman Rate, DOE)
Schedule: Flexible 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM, 30-minute lunch, 2 breaks
Optional 4x10 schedule with Fridays Off/Optional
What You’ll Do- Set up and operate manual shop equipment
- CNC Machining Experience is a plus
- Read blueprints and technical drawings
- Machine piece parts, bushings, and bore holes
- Work on varied equipment (baler one day, rollers the next)
- Apply basic geometry, speeds and feeds, and adjust as needed
- Self-inspect work and communicate clearly with the team
- Safely operate an overhead crane
- Support general job shop machining and repair work

- Exposure to a wide variety of machines and work, not repetitive production
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read blueprints
- Understanding of manual machining fundamentals
- Comfortable with job shop, non-repetitive work
- Manual machining experience (no minimum years required)
- Knowledge of speeds, feeds, and setup
- Ability to work independently and inspect your own work
- Strong communication and safety awareness
- Experience with large manual equipment such as:
- Horizontal & Vertical Boring Mills
- Engine & Vertical Lathes
- Knee Mills
- Grinders, Radial Drills, and Fabrication Equipment
- Familiarity with overhead cranes
- Interest in continuing education (evening machining coursework a plus)
- Horizontal & Vertical Boring Mills (Lucas, Bullard, Berthiez)
- Engine & Vertical Lathes (Monarch, Graziano, Axelson, Leblond)
- Knee Mills (K&T, Atrump, Lagun, Summit)
- Grinders, Radial Drills, Welding & Fabrication Equipment
- Line Boring, Presses, Bandsaws, Flame & Plasma Cutting
- 10-ton Overhead Bridge Crane
