Salary: $67,704 - $91,104 Yearly. The salary does not include an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in an on-site 24/7 facility.

The Opportunity:

We need your leadership skills at Green Hill School to supervise and direct counseling staff in the treatment and case management of juvenile offenders and to ensure fidelity to the Juvenile Rehabilitation Integrated Treatment Model. You will lead developmentally appropriate, trauma informed, racial equity-based and culturally relevant counseling and case management for juvenile offenders and assure fidelity to JR’s Integrated Treatment Model (ITM).

of what you'll do:
  • Supervise and direct staff within a collective bargaining environment.
  • Address employee performance issues and initiate disciplinary procedures for just cause and facilitate informal conflict resolution.
  • Conduct timely employee evaluations.
  • Schedule and ensure completion of mandatory training.
  • Educate staff and youth in principles of JR's Integrated Treatment Model.
  • Assess behavior of an assigned caseload of youth, prioritize treatment targets, develop treatment plans, and implement interventions based on JR approved cognitive/behavioral treatment principles.
  • Provide individual counseling, family contacts and facilitating and co-facilitating groups.
  • Promote youth readiness for reentry into the community by teaching and reinforcing the use and generalization of skills, allowing and supporting opportunities for growth (i.e. cultural groups, college courses, work experience) and identifying step down opportunities, such as community facilities.
  • Conduct routine and random security duties including perimeter, grounds, building checks and headcounts. Suicide Precaution Level (SPL) checks, key control and room searches for cleanliness and contraband.
  • Recognize and assess problem situations and respond to emergent situations such as youth fights, attempted suicides, and dis-regulated youth using JR approved verbal de-escalation and/or physical control techniques and restraints as necessary to restore order.
Required Qualifications:

Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling six years.
OR
One year as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Residential Counselor (JRRC), Juvenile Rehabilitation Community Counselor (JRCC) or Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor 2 (JRC2).
OR
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution AND two years of professional experience in casework, counseling, probation and parole, social services, planning, directing, and/or facilitation youth group activities or experience in a related field.

AND

  • The ability to take action to learn and grow.
  • The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
  • Note:

    A Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Social Sciences, or in a related field will substitute for one year of experience.

    In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

    Previously demonstrated experience or understanding of:

    • Supervisory experience to include training, performance, and evaluations, creating and managing schedules, etc.
    • Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences related to juvenile delinquency.
    • Experience working with the Juvenile Rehabilitation population.
    • Providing cognitive/behavior therapeutic interventions.
