Teacher Active is currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Nursery Assistants to work on an agency basis in a range of welcoming early years settings across Chelmsford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Nursery Assistant who is looking for flexible work while gaining valuable experience across different nursery environments.

As a Nursery Assistant working through Teacher Active, you will support nursery teams in providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early years education and enjoy supporting children’s development through play and structured learning activities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the nursery team with the day-to-day running of the setting. Responsibilities include assisting with play-based learning activities, supporting children’s social and emotional development, helping to maintain a safe and engaging learning environment, assisting with daily routines including mealtimes and tidying activity areas, and supporting qualified practitioners with the delivery of activities that follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

You will also help ensure that children are supervised at all times and that safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed.

Requirements

The ideal Nursery Assistant will be enthusiastic, reliable and confident working with young children. Previous experience working in a nursery, childcare or early years environment is desirable but not always essential. A relevant childcare qualification is beneficial, however individuals who have experience supporting children or who are looking to build a career in early years are encouraged to apply. A positive attitude, strong communication skills and a genuine passion for working with children are essential for this Nursery Assistant role.
