Multi Trade Operative

A Multitrader in the residential construction/developer environment is a multi-skilled operative responsible for carrying out a wide range of construction, repair, and maintenance tasks across residential properties — including new build homes, refurbishments, social housing, and occupied properties. The role is hands-on and requires working independently and on site with minimal supervision.

* Conduct general repairs and maintenance across residential properties and construction sites.

* Carry out tasks in multiple trades, such as:

* Carpentry (doors, windows, flooring, joinery)

* Plumbing (minor repairs, leak fixes)

* Plastering and patch repairs

* Tiling, painting & decorating

* Basic brickwork and plaster repairs

* Kitchen/bathroom refurbishments, installation, or snags.

* Work with snagging lists and complete remedial works as directed by site managers.

* Ensure all works meet company quality standards, specifications, and health & safety regulations.

* Communicate with residents (for occupied properties) or project teams to ensure minimal disruption and professional service.

* Maintain accurate records of work, material use, and updates via digital tools or site paperwork (e.g., PDA/job tracking apps).

📋 Typical Duties

* Respond to reactive repair requests and complete tasks on a “first-fix” basis where possible.

* Undertake planned and preventative maintenance programmes.

* Support other tradespeople or subcontractors as required.

* Operate power and hand tools safely and efficiently.

* Keep work areas tidy and compliant with onsite safety and environmental standards
