Multi Trade Operative

A Multitrader in the residential construction/developer environment is a multi‑skilled operative responsible for carrying out a wide range of construction, repair, and maintenance tasks across residential properties — including new build homes, refurbishments, social housing, and occupied properties. The role is hands‑on and requires working independently and on site with minimal supervision.

• Conduct general repairs and maintenance across residential properties and construction sites.
• Carry out tasks in multiple trades, such as:
  • Carpentry (doors, windows, flooring, joinery)
  • Plumbing (minor repairs, leak fixes)
  • Plastering and patch repairs
  • Tiling, painting & decorating
  • Basic brickwork and plaster repairs
  • Kitchen/bathroom refurbishments, installation, or snags.
• Work with snagging lists and complete remedial works as directed by site managers.
• Ensure all works meet company quality standards, specifications, and health & safety regulations.
• Communicate with residents (for occupied properties) or project teams to ensure minimal disruption and professional service.
• Maintain accurate records of work, material use, and updates via digital tools or site paperwork (e.g., PDA/job tracking apps).

• Respond to reactive repair requests and complete tasks on a “first‑fix” basis where possible.
• Undertake planned and preventative maintenance programmes.
• Support other tradespeople or subcontractors as required.
• Operate power and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Keep work areas tidy and compliant with onsite safety and environmental standards.
