We are accepting applications for the Preschool Paraprofessional position at Chelmsford Integrated Preschool (CHIPS). The role involves working one-to-one or in small groups with preschool‑aged students to support their academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
This position is anticipated for the academic year, but may change based on staffing, enrollment, or budget considerations.
Qualifications & Responsibilities- Associate degree, two years of college, or passing the paraprofessional test.
- Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities.
- Knowledge of classroom procedures, including preparation and maintenance of records.
- Knowledge of special education procedures.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the preschool.
- Experience working with age‑appropriate students in a school setting.
- Support students physically, academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting.
- Assist students with toileting and diapering as needed.
- Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers.
- Ability to collect data consistently.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
