General Description:

The registered School Nurse will provide first aid to students and staff, including, administering medications, performing ordered treatments, caring for illness and documenting in accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts laws and the policies and procedures of the School District.

• A minimum of a Bachelor s degree is required, and Licensure as a School Nurse from the Massachusetts Department of Education (DESE)
• Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Valid and current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and AED from a recognized provider (e.g., American Heart Association).
• Nursing experience in community or child health. Experience in pediatrics is preferred.
• Understanding of child growth and development
• Ability to think critically and react decisively in emergency situations.
• Demonstrated ability to be an effective communicator with students, staff members, and parents and able to maintain confidentiality.

South Row is currently the smallest elementary school in Chelmsford with a student population of approximately 420 students in grades K-4. We have four sections at each grade level with class size ranging from 20 - 25. South Row prides itself on having a very happy and friendly school culture where all the adults work in collaboration with one another in order to help our students learn and grow.
