We are looking for a strong leader to join our preteen/teen program Summer Quest! The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing leadership to both staff, children and teens. The candidate should be extremely organized and have great time management skills. This individual will report to the Childcare Supervisor and work with the Summer Quest team to plan and run a smooth summer program.

This will be a Seasonal, non-benefited position with a commitment from July 6th, through August 7th.
Hours may vary based on the daily field trip. The Supervisor will work with the Childcare Supervisor to create an appropriate schedule for the Summer, with additional meetings for planning during the school year (approximately 10 hours). Shift hours would be 7:45-3:15 (Program Hours are 8:00-3:00)

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
School Year:

* Meets with Comm Ed Administrative Team as needed to discuss SQ plans.

* May be required to meet with Childcare Supervisor to conceptualize activities for upcoming summer & discuss supplies needed.

* Mentors new Staff.

* Monitors Google Docs weekly for any required input for planning purposes.

* Perform other related duties as required or as directed.

Summer Months:

* Supervise a group of 30-40 students in grades 5-9 for 5 field trips per week. This program will travel daily, rain or shine.

* Manage staff to make sure all of the agreed upon procedures for running of SQ are followed.

* Assist staff when needed with issues with the children. Develop behavioral management plans when needed working with the Childcare
Supervisor.

* Mentor, train and inspire staff.

* Create daily plan (bus times, materials needed, etc.) based on the field trip. Daily plans should be done by Thursday for the
following week, approved and sent to families.

* Assign staff schedules to meet the needs of the program.

* Evaluate SQ staff.

* Monitor children with food allergies for daily activities and Field Trips. Assume nursing responsibilities when no nurse is on duty.

* Prepare for extreme temperatures when taking the children offsite.

* Manage and attend Field Trips.

* Communicate with parents on a daily basis.

* Assume responsibility for all paperwork for the students, and attendance.

* Perform daily temperature checks of the students.

* Assist with the set up and breakdown of SQ.

* Perform other related duties as required or as directed.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS:

* Fast-paced environment.

* Field Trips daily - rain or shine.

* Regular interruptions to assist customers and staff.

* Ability to lift heavy equipment and coolers.

* Some travel by personal automobile to stores, Comm Ed Office, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* BS in Elementary Education preferred.

* 3+ years' supervisory experience preferred.

* Experience working in a summer program required.

* Ability to lift and carry files, documents, equipment, etc.

* Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and Google Docs.

* Proficiency with Windows operating system.

* Strong work ethic, self-starter, motivated, flexible, positive attitude with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities a must.
