Job DescriptionChelmsford Public Schools—Announcement of Anticipated Vacancy for Community Education Summerfest 2026 Programming.
The District reserves the right to change or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Field Play Supervisor
Location:
Community Education Summerfest Program
Oversee the Field Play events which run for four consecutive Tuesdays, beginning on July 6, 2026, through August 14, 2026 (with built-in rain dates). Hours on the field each week are from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
- Plan field schedule and age‑appropriate activities for each week.
- Attend preseason meetings with Comm Ed staff to discuss the upcoming season.
- Review and brainstorm ways to improve the program.
- Work with the Comm Ed staff to hire coaching staff.
- Train coaching staff; each week you have fifteen minutes with staff before participants arrive. Train staff and have them assist in taking out and putting away equipment.
- Prepare student groups and staff assignments prior to the start of the season.
- Manage the staff to ensure the program is being implemented properly and the staff is paired up to deliver the best program possible for the children.
- Manage the field schedules on Tuesday evenings.
- Interact with parents as needed during Field Play.
- Work with Comm Ed staff to determine weather cancellation calls.
- Manage and transport required equipment to and from Carson Track.
- This position includes light administrative duties.
- Attend a post‑season wrap‑up meeting with Comm Ed staff.
- Perform other duties as required or directed.

Salary: $495 to $495 Stipend

Job Requirements- Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Preference for candidates with a Physical Education or Fitness background.
- 1–3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
