Position:
Middle School Para educator
Location:
McCarthy Middle School
Description:
Work with Middle School children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classrooms to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Associates Degree, two years of college or passing the para test.
* Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities.
* Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
* Knowledge of special education procedures and IEPs
* Provide support (accommodations & modifications) to students with academic tasks.
* Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
* Support students with social, communication and/or ADL skills including assisting with toileting as needed.
* Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the Middle School level.
* Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education
coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
* Successful candidate will have a positive attitude and must work well as a member of a team.
* Ability to build relationships with students and colleagues and provide ongoing support and direction to students.
* Ability to work as a team and collaborate.
