Position: Classroom Paraprofessional
Location: Chelmsford High School
Description: Work with high school children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. Additional duties as required by the special education department or high school principal.
Qualifications- Associate's Degree, two years of college or passing the para test.
- Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities.
- Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
- Knowledge of special education procedures.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the High School level.
- Ability to support students academically with high school curriculum.
- Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
- Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting.
- Assist students with toileting as needed.
- Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers.
- Ability to collect data consistently if needed.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
- A team player to work as a paraprofessional providing academic support for students. The candidate will work with high school students, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. Successful candidates will have a positive attitude and must work well as a member of a team. Ability to build relationships with students and colleagues, and provide ongoing support and direction to students.

Chelmsford High School is a public high school located in Chelmsford Massachusetts, established in 1927. The school is based on a three-house system. The houses are named after Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and John Whittier, three well-known New England writers. Each house has two to three school counselors, a dean, and an office. All students are assigned a house at the beginning of their freshman year.
