Job Description

Chelmsford Public Schools is seeking substitute teachers, para educators, and lunch/recess aides for the 2025/2026 school year.

  • Day to Day Substitute Teacher $125 per day
  • Day to Day Substitute Teacher who is a retired, formerly licensed teacher $150 per day
  • Associates Degree Required, Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • Long-Term Substitute Teacher (more than 10 consecutive days in the same assignment) $200 per day
  • Bachelor Degree and DESE licensure required
  • Day to Day Substitute Para educator and Lunch/Recess Aide $16 per hour

Become a Substitute Teacher, Paraprofessional, or Aide! The Chelmsford Public Schools welcomes individuals who are willing to contribute to the educational experiences of the children of Chelmsford. Substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, and aides play an important role in the educational process. As a substitute, your services and contributions are necessary for the continuity of educational instruction of our students. Serving over 5,200 students in PreK-12 in 8 buildings, the Chelmsford Public Schools has continued to be recognized locally, statewide, and nationally for the good work of our students and faculty.
