Position:
Interim Special Education Teacher

Location:

Center Elementary School

General Description:

  • Design, supervise and implement students’ IEP plans
  • Develop curriculum modifications and adaptations
  • Participate in IEP Team meetings
  • Write effective IEPs for students
  • Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress
  • Effectively work with a team of professionals to coordinate services
  • Consult with general education teacher and related service providers
  • Assist classroom teachers with instructional strategies to facilitate inclusion
  • Write quarterly progress reports for IEP goals that are data based on student performance
  • Administer various diagnostic achievement assessments (WIAT-III, Key Math, GORT 5, etc.) that identify student capabilities as part of initial and reevaluation for students
  • Write effective evaluation reports summarizing findings and making recommendations for assigned students

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $61,142 to $114,820 Per Year

Job Requirements
  • Successful candidates will hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in special education from an accredited college or university
  • MA DESE Teaching License – PreK-8 Moderate Special Needs license is required
  • Experience in modifying and adapting curriculum to assure students can access the curriculum
  • Ability to effectively consult and work collaboratively with various service providers and support staff
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Experience with IEP development is required
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
