- Early Childhood Teacher Certification or completion of a three‑credit Child Growth and Development course, or equivalent (college preferred)
- Experience working with age‑appropriate students in a school setting
- Knowledge of classroom preparation and record‑keeping requirements
- Related school experience desirable
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Alternatives to the above qualifications may be found appropriate and acceptable by the Director of Community Education
- Salary: $18.25 to $20.40 per hour based on experience and education.
- Program hours: 7:00am–5:00pm.
- Work year: 186 days (180 school days, full professional day, two days before school starts, one day after school ends, one set‑up day, and one clean‑up day).
- Position includes 3 personal days for personal, legal, business, religious, household or family matters.
- Position includes 13 sick days.
- Vacation: 4 days during December recess for 0–4 years of service; 8 days during December and February recesses for 5–14 years of service; 12 days during December, February and April recesses for more than 15 years of service.
- 30‑minute lunch break and a 15‑minute break scheduled by the supervisor and the teacher.
Performance will be evaluated annually in writing by the Lions Pride Supervisor.
