Job DescriptionFor internal transfer applicants only until January 2, 2026. After January 2, 2026 the posting is open to external candidates, including long‑term substitutes and other qualified employees.
Performance Responsibilities- Remain up to date regarding curriculum content.
- Plan instruction effectively.
- Plan assessment of student learning effectively.
- Monitor students’ understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate.
- Create an environment that is positive for student learning and involvement.
- Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety.
- Make learning goals clear to students.
- Use appropriate instruction techniques.
- Use appropriate questioning techniques.
- Evaluate, employ innovative approaches, and refine instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence in ability to learn.
- Communicate learning goals and high standards and expectations to students.
- Promote confidence and perseverance in students, stimulating increased personal responsibility for achieving curriculum goals.
- Strive to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning.
- Demonstrate appreciation for and sensitivity to diversity among individuals.
- Be constructive and cooperative in interactions with parents and receptive to their contributions.
- Share responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of the grade, team, department, building, and school district.
- Be a reflective and continuous learner.
- Comply with School Committee policies, contractual agreements, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues, administrators, and other school personnel.
- Salary per years of experience and education level pursuant to pay schedule within Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Certification valid for service as a teacher in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- SEI endorsement/ESL licensure preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience with appropriate age group.
