To coordinate the Community Education Programs to ensure proper instruction and activities for students. Provide an enriching, exciting, and fun after school experience to the children enrolled in our Chelmsford Community Education Programs, ensuring all participants have a memorable time during any activities provided.
Performance Responsibilities- Attend mandatory training meetings before extended day starts
- Provide the daily program plan
- Designated adult to assist a child with physical, developmental or emotional delays
- Work on the floor, lift over 50 lbs and meet other physical requirements as needed
- Collaboratively create plans and activities to help children with behavioral or physical challenges succeed
- Be willing to be trained, research supportive techniques as needed, and mentor colleagues
- Implement and create activities for small groups
- Accept and adhere to all guidelines set forth
- Report necessary problems or information to supervisor
- Confer with teachers, team leaders and other personnel regarding students’ individualized needs
- Supervise and interact with students
- Assume responsibility for all personal care needs of the children
- Perform other related duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate
- Attend and complete all required training
- Work one shift during February or April vacation weeks
Individual shift time varies based on program needs and the needs of the students.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated annually in writing by the Site Supervisor.
Requirements- Associate’s degree preferred
- Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting
- Experience working with students with special needs required
- Knowledge of classroom preparation and record‑keeping requirements
- Related school experience desirable
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence of assigned responsibilities
- Alternative qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the Director of Community Education
- Completed CORI and fingerprinting accepted
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
$21 to $21 Per Hour
