Position: ABA Paraprofessional
Location: Chelmsford High School
The successful candidate will work with high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Interest in working with students with exceptionalities is required; experience with an Applied Behavior Analysis approach is preferred but not mandatory. Training will be provided. The position involves working 1:1 and/or with small groups of students in a sub‑separate special education classroom and/or within the inclusion general education setting.
Qualifications- ABA trained (Applied Behavior Analysis) or willing to be trained
- Knowledge and understanding of ASD disability
- Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records
- Knowledge of special education procedures
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the high school level
- Experience working with age‑appropriate students in a school setting
- Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting
- Assist students with toileting as needed
- Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers
- Ability to collect data consistently
- Ability to consistently implement procedures of a behavior support plan
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services
