Work with elementary school children, both in general education classrooms and special education classrooms, to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. The position involves working 1:1 with students, in small groups, or supporting students within the inclusion setting and also assisting with toileting.
Qualifications & Responsibilities- Associate degree, some college credit, or passing the para educator test.
- Knowledge of various disabilities.
- Knowledge of school classroom procedures, including preparation and maintenance of records.
- Knowledge of special education procedures.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the elementary school level.
- Experience working with age‑appropriate students in a school setting.
- Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting.
- Assist students with toileting as needed.
- Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers.
- Ability to collect data consistently.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed appropriate by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
- Team player with a positive attitude, working well as a member of a team.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
