Electronics Engineer, Systems Engineer
PGS Worldwide is seeking an RF Design Engineer in Andover, MA for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports the development and production of complex multi-function RF modules across the full product lifecycle. You will contribute to circuit and subsystem design, testing, and integration while working on advanced, high-reliability applications.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 8+ years of professional experience, or 6+ years with a related Master’s degree
- Extensive experience with RF design at the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), subsystem, or module level
- Experience with schematic capture, RF block diagram reviews, and CCA development
- Strong experience troubleshooting designs and resolving integration issues
- Experience using microwave test equipment such as network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
- Experience with RF and microwave simulation tools such as ADS, CST Microwave Studio, and HFSS
- Ability to obtain at least an interim Secret security clearance prior to starting
Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience in the defense electronics industry
- Expertise with RF subsystems and hardware including antennas, transmitters, receivers, amplifiers, mixers, switches, and frequency generation or conversion circuits
- Experience with 3D electromagnetic simulation tools
- Experience with microelectronics assembly techniques
- Experience with technical documentation including specifications, schematics, and test data
- Experience leading technical projects
What You’ll Do
- Support development and production of complex RF modules across all phases of the product lifecycle
- Design and develop circuits, modules, and subsystems from concept through production
- Analyze and solve complex technical problems with innovative solutions
- Perform hands-on testing and validation in laboratory environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration and performance issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including hardware, systems, and manufacturing
- Mentor less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance
- Contribute to documentation and technical data supporting product development
