Job Description
WSP is one of the globe’s leading engineering firms, helping New England clients and communities improve infrastructure while advancing professional careers in construction management and inspection. WSP is currently recruiting a Resident Engineer for the $900 million Terminal E Garage and Roadways project at Logan Airport. This position may be based in Boston, Chelmsford, or Worcester, Massachusetts, but will be assigned full‑time to the project site.
Responsibilities- Review, interpret, and apply construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Evaluate technical submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project intent.
- Oversee work to ensure conformance to plans and specifications and help preemptively resolve design and construction issues.
- Maintain daily interface with the construction manager, subcontractors, and project owner.
- Attend daily project meetings and report on progress, including measurements, unit price quantities, and maintenance‑of‑traffic compliance.
- Capture photographic evidence of daily progress and coordinate on‑call material technicians or surveyors.
- Assist in reviewing construction manager and subcontractor pay requisition processes and potential change orders.
- Produce and update punch lists and red‑line drawings using Bluebeam.
- Respond to early or late construction activity as needed, including availability on Saturdays and odd hours.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, in accordance with WSP’s Code of Conduct.
- Operate primarily during night shift hours with periodic weekend coverage.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 11 years of applicable experience, including 4 years supervising staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and average proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, and anti‑harassment policies.
- Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
- ACI or NETTCP certifications, or ability to obtain them within three months of hire.
- Hands‑on experience with construction management software such as PMWeb, Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, or similar, with knowledge of Bluebeam desirable.
- Proven supervisory skills.
- Any combination of college education, professional licences, certifications, and experience will be considered.
Expected Salary: $78,200 – $136,730.
