CAD Designer | Geotechnical Engineering Firm | Onsite in Chelmsford, MA | $100K to $130K Base + Bonus

Our client, a growing geotechnical engineering and consulting firm north of Boston, is looking for an experienced CAD Designer/Manager to take the lead on drafting across some of the most complex heavy civil, infrastructure, transportation, and marine construction projects in the region.

This firm works directly with contractors, supporting them on geotechnical and structural design, pile and shaft testing, and instrumentation and monitoring from start to finish. Project work spans temporary earth retaining structures, trestles and work platforms, deep and shallow foundations, marine structures, accelerated bridge construction, shoring, and demolition and erection plans. No two projects look the same.

This is a technical leadership seat, not a heads-down drafting role. You will work directly with Principals and staff engineers, own the drafting side of active projects, and have real influence over how the firm s CAD standards and tools evolve.

• Produce complete, submission-ready plan sets from markups and verbal direction within a project team
• Build and refine drawing standards, sheet standards, and typical project details
• Mentor and oversee junior engineers and CAD technicians as they grow
• Partner with Principals to keep multiple concurrent projects on schedule and on budget
• Help modernize the firm s CAD capabilities and keep pace with industry advancements

• 8+ years of CAD drafting experience (required)
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D;
  Microstation, Revit, or other BIM experience is a plus
• Associate s degree or higher in a science, engineering technology, drafting, or CAD field, or equivalent technical certification
• Solid grasp of construction drawings and structural details (steel, concrete, timber), plus familiarity with state and federal CAD compliance requirements
• Bonus points for experience with dynamic blocks, scripts, or Dynamo
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and a self-motivated, professional approach

• $100,000 to $130,000 base salary plus bonuses, with overtime eligibility
