Job DescriptionAECOM's Water Business Line is seeking a talented mid-career Geotechnical Engineer II to support water, wastewater treatment, flood protection, and associated projects in our Chelmsford, MA office.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful national group providing leadership of junior-level structural engineers while under the guidance of Registered Professional Engineers that offers a range of career development opportunities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:- Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
- Identifies discrepancies in results.
- Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field + 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S. Driver's License is required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. The selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical Engineering Focus or other related field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in a US Jurisdiction with the ability to obtain licensure via comity in Massachussetts within twelve (12) months.
- 3+ years of demonstrated work experience performing geotechnical exploration,
- Understanding of analysis & design
- Strong knowledge of providing guidance for the built environment.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
To support this commitment, all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $95000 to $115000.
