DESCRIPTION

RF Engineering Aide Requisition

We are seeking an experienced RF Technician to provide technical support to a team of industry-leading RF and microwave design engineers. The incumbent will act as a bridge between design development programs and laboratory testing, handling data acquisition, troubleshooting, and documentation for high-performance RF systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on RF professional who wants to expand into design-support activities.

Candidate should have knowledge of Test Equipment: PNAs, Signal Generators/Analyzers, etc. Candidate should be able to set up test stands/test benches. Should be able to collect data (Power/ S Parameters/Harmonics/Phase Noise/Noise Figure).

Candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Should be able to use a microscope proficiently. Should have Block Diagram and Schematic literacy. Should be able to perform assembly to print (without work instruction help) and have general RF knowledge.

Job Description (expanded):
  • Technical Support: assist engineers with diverse technical tasks; gather, maintain, format, compile and manipulate technical data lab results, material test results, engineering design changes).
  • Documentation Production:
    Generate engineering documents, reports, and drawings including flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics.
  • Mathematical & Data Analysis:
    Perform detailed calculations using established formulas; conduct preliminary analyses of data (trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency, quantitative judgements).
  • Computer-Based Work:
    Use a PC for analysis, documentation, and report development (Microsoft Office suite).
  • Test Execution:
    May conduct tests, record data and support engineering evaluation or analysis activities.
  • Wire Harness and Chassis Build:
    Build wire harnesses, test chassis, and CCAs in accordance with drawing specifications.
  • Microscope Assembly:
    Assemble components under a microscope using hand tools; work with small, precision parts with attention to detail.
  • Soldering:
    Perform fine-pitch soldering of small components adhering to ESD safety practices.
  • Test-Equipment:
    Set up and operate RF test equipment (PNAs, signal generators, analyzers, spectrum/network analyzers, power supplies).
  • Data Collection:
    Acquire and process performance data: power, S-Parameters, Harmonics, Phase Noise, Noise Figure.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    Communicate findings clearly to engineers and cross-functional teams; support design-change reviews and engineering analyses.

The Engineering Aide will start in Chelmsford and then transition to Andover once the lab is relocated (end of year).

  • Active Secret Clearance or Ability to Obtain Interim Clearance Prior to Start.
  • 4/10 Work Week.
  • 1st Shift.
  • $56.06/hr.
  • Duration: 10/1/2026-10/1/2027.
  • Non-Exempt.
  • Contract Position.
  • Worker will work Onsite Full Time.
MANDATORY:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred).
  • ≥ 3 years’ experience troubleshooting RF/Digital circuits.
  • ≥ 3 years’ experience operating oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, power supplies, signal generators, PNAs, etc.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint. 3 years’ experience soldering and assembling small components; able to work under a microscope without detailed instructions. Demonstrated ability to safely handle ESD-sensitive devices.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision. Strong verbal and written skills.
DESIRED:
  • Associate’s degree in electronics or closely related field technical field is desirable.
  • Familiarity with microelectronics and wire harness assembly techniques.
  • Knowledge of RF Modules (amplifiers, mixers, switches, frequency generation and conversion circuits).
