Teller
As a Teller, you’ll work under the leadership of the Branch Officer to welcome members and non-members and perform various transactions accurately and efficiently. Adheres to Credit Union policies and procedures to ensure ethical and compliant business practices. Builds member relationships through education about products and services.
Responsibilities- Greets members and non-members and provides information regarding transactions, products, and services. Receives and processes member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other negotiable instruments, while adhering to all branch processes, procedures, policies, and compliance regulations.
- Performs cash drawer balancing and daily settlement procedures; assists with branch balancing.
- Actively engages in the relationship-building process through educating and referring Credit Union products and services. Directs members to the appropriate department or resource for further information and services as necessary.
- Deescalates challenging member situations by problem-solving, exercising sound judgment and decision-making while demonstrating a “yes” mindset.
- Demonstrates a commitment to learning and thoroughly understanding all Credit Union deposit and loan products and services.
- Maintains situational awareness and reports unusual or suspicious behaviors, activity, or inconsistencies.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Experience:
Entry-level. Six months of related experience is preferred. - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Interpersonal
Skills:
Strong confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy, and tact in communication; ability to build relationships with members and vendors; good verbal communication skills, including positive body language and tone, patience, active listening, and sound judgment. - Other
Skills:
Basic Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn core systems and related software. Ability to think critically, take ownership, work independently and as part of a team. Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask. Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
Physical requirements:
standing, sitting, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
