Lowell General Hospital is seeking a per diem Physical Therapy Aide to join our outpatient PT team!

Hours

Per Diem coverage for Mondays through Thursdays. Minimum of 2 shifts per week / 3:30p-8pm.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

One (1) year of relevant experience

Duties and Responsibilities

Sets up and cleans the treatment areas, empty laundry, and maintain equipment and temperature logs.

Applies hot and cold packs to patients as directed.

Assists therapists with mobility training, transfers, gait training, and exercise programs for patients.

Schedules patient appointments, check insurance eligibility, assist with treatment authorization process, and communicate with insurance companies as appropriate.

Checks daily outpatient charges, set up new patient folders, discharge outpatient records, pick up/drop off charts to Medical Records as requested, filing monthly Kardex cards, check department stock of exercise programs for patient teaching/home programs and making copies as needed.

Checks, orders, and refills department supplies, deliver & pick up mail, answer telephones for Rehab Department, take and relay messages, handle routine inquiries, fax appropriate documents, and assist with performing PT and/or OT Department inventories biannually.
