Ardent Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer III for a direct hire opportunity with a growing electronics manufacturing company. This role is ideal for a highly skilled manufacturing engineering professional with strong experience supporting circuit card assemblies (CCAs), cable/wire harnesses, box builds, and electro‑mechanical manufacturing processes.
The Manufacturing Engineer III will provide technical support for production, lead process improvements, develop manufacturing documentation, support customer requirements, and act as a key interface between engineering, production, quality, and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for manufacturing processes related to circuit card assemblies / CCAs, cable and wire harness products, box builds, and electro‑mechanical assemblies.
- Review customer requests for quotation to ensure all required information is included (statement of work, technical data packages, drawings and specifications, special instructions).
- Develop labor time estimates for interconnect assemblies and manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate and interpret customer specifications, technical drawings, engineering instructions, fabrication requirements, and assembly documentation.
- Communicate technical and production requirements clearly to the manufacturing floor.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including visual aids, routings, bills of material, assembly instructions, inspection instructions, and work instructions.
- Review and sign off on engineering ECO packages; review, approve, and/or develop specifications for purchased materials and components.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes and implement improvements to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and systematic problem solving.
- Incorporate customer change notices into manufacturing documentation.
- Resolve technical issues encountered during production.
- Work closely with process engineers and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and support lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Develop and document operating procedures and work instructions focused on productivity, quality, and repeatability.
- Lead ECO and project kickoffs to ensure smooth product release to the production floor.
- Serve as the engineering point of contact for assigned customer accounts and internal teams.
- 6+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in electronics, electro‑mechanical manufacturing, or contract manufacturing.
- Direct experience with circuit card assemblies (CCAs) is required.
- Experience supporting cable/wire harnesses, box builds, or interconnect assemblies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent hands‑on experience will be considered.
- Strong understanding of parts lists, bills of material, customer specifications.
- Experience creating or maintaining routings, work instructions, assembly instructions, inspection instructions, and visual aids.
- Experience with continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work directly with production, engineering, quality, purchasing, and customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word; ability to edit PDFs and work with spreadsheets and technical documentation.
- Experience with Aegis Factory Logix.
- Experience determining labor costs and manufacturing labor estimates.
- Experience translating customer BOMs into facility cost templates.
- J-STD-001, J-STD-001S, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620.
- Contract manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail‑oriented Manufacturing Engineer with strong CCA experience and the ability to support technical production needs from quote review through shop floor release. This person should be comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, solving production issues, improving processes, and communicating effectively with both internal teams and customers.
