Summary of Duties
The Manager of Quality will develop and oversee quality management systems in compliance with AS 9100.
Specific DutiesProvides overall leadership and management of all aspects of company and supplier quality for continuous process improvement and high-quality output. Directs operations of the Quality Department including quality levels of incoming materials, manufactured components and finished products. Establishes overall quality levels and specifications; conducts audits of systems and products to assure compliance with corporate, customer and industry requirements. Supervises quality assurance personnel.
Implements and executes all AS 9100 procedures to identify and drive resolution of process inefficiencies, product quality issues, and vendor and customer issues. Manager is responsible for maintaining AS 9100 training. Proactively participates in AS 9100 management review pertaining to all respective department responsibilities.
Holds regularly scheduled meetings that provide feedback on progress of operations. Continuously coaches and develops employees. Conducts timely performance reviews. Develops, implements, and monitors career path planning for employees.
Key Responsibilities- Provide quality engineering support to manufacturing scale-up activities to ensure that product processes have been developed appropriately and are transferred to manufacturing in accordance with user requirements, plus corporate and regulatory guidelines.
- Manage contract reviews.
- Generate and assess quality metrics of trends that affect product quality. Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and various metrics. Establish new metrics when appropriate.
- Work with quote launch, risk mitigation meetings to include research and development during new product start-ups to ensure compliance with design controls, and establish key checkpoints for new programs and processes.
- Manage and communicate quality data from multiple sources to assist in the risk management and risk-based decision processes to ensure PO compliance.
- Manage the corrective and preventive action (CAPA), management review process, and internal quality audit programs.
- Manage non-conforming material reviews and MRB activities.
- Manage supply chain quality, supplier audits, supplier approvals and supplier corrective actions.
- Manage documentation control and record-keeping systems for engineering documents and company procedures; includes environmental control procedures.
- Participate in the development of test development.
- Manage calibration activities and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Manage the customer complaint handling/investigation process.
- Manage the GIDEP alert process.
- Develop, implement and monitor company training of AS 9100 work instructions. (QMS Documentation, BAE Opsec and Counterfeit avoidance)
- Support the safety committee.
