2nd Shift Quality Inspector — Direct Hire
Chelmsford, MA Area | $60,000–$69,000 per year
We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join a growing manufacturing team in the Chelmsford, MA area. This is a direct hire, full‑time opportunity offering a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $69,000 annually, along with a collaborative work environment and opportunities for long‑term career growth.
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting in‑process and finished products to ensure they meet customer requirements, engineering specifications, industry standards, and internal quality expectations. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, hands‑on inspection experience, and a background in electromechanical or manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities- Perform visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections on in‑process and finished products to ensure compliance with workmanship standards, engineering drawings, quality specifications, and customer requirements.
- Review incoming work orders, parts lists, bills of materials, and work instructions to determine production and inspection requirements.
- Inspect products, components, and materials using a variety of test instruments, tools, and inspection equipment.
- Set up and operate inspection and testing equipment as required.
- Perform and review pull testing and other required inspection procedures.
- Document inspection results accurately and maintain required inspection records.
- Identify, report, and document non‑conforming materials or products.
- Record non‑conformance data, inspection results, equipment issues, and other quality‑related information in company systems.
- Log product status and inspection activity using computer terminals or database systems.
- Troubleshoot inspection‑related problems and initiate corrective action when appropriate.
- Assist other inspectors with complex assignments or inspection activities.
- Support statistical charting, quality tracking, and reporting efforts.
- Participate in Total Quality Management initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and quality standards while performing daily responsibilities.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality inspection experience, preferably in an electromechanical manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and work instructions.
- Experience performing visual, mechanical, and electrical inspections.
- Familiarity with inspection tools, test equipment, and quality documentation practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer/data‑entry systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 and IPC‑A‑620 standards preferred.
