Overview
Program Facilitators deliver Accredited Programmes and Structured Interventions to people on community orders or licence after release.
Work is primarily in evening sessions and requires travel between sites. Travel expenses can be claimed.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate group and one‑to‑one sessions to reduce re‑offending and support pro‑social development.
- Manage group dynamics, address challenging behaviour and maintain accurate records.
- Provide workshops and briefings to probation staff and external stakeholders.
- Keep progress, risk and wellbeing records and share insights with relevant teams.
- Work closely with courts and criminal justice agencies to support sentence management.
- Complete a six‑month probationary period, including assessment centre and training assessment.
Applicants should have experience working with offenders, preferably in a probation or community setting. Experience delivering structured interventions or group facilitation is desirable. A proven ability to manage group dynamics, record keeping and risk assessment is essential.
Salary and BenefitsYour starting salary will be £28,064, with additional unsocial hours payments of 30% for evenings and 50% for Saturdays.
The Probation Service offers annual pay progression through the Competency Based Framework. Travel expenses can be claimed.
Working ArrangementsEvening work is essential. The role is primarily based in a regional area with travel to different locations. The MoJ offers hybrid working arrangements where possible, but the role can only be worked within the UK.
