Float Nurse-RN

Job Description

Nurse - Full Time position assisting with student medical needs throughout the county during the school day, on bus routes, field trips and extracurricular activities.

• Hold a current Alabama License for Associate Degree in nursing (ADN), Bachelor's Degree in nursing (BSN), or Practical Nursing (LPN).
• Clinical nursing experience with school-age children in the hospital, community health or pediatric clinic desired.
• Clinical nursing skills necessary to provide safe care to students with special health care needs.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with administration, nursing supervisor, faculty, parents and students.
• Ability to demonstrate complete, accurate and timely documentation of health services rendered.
• Possess current CPR certification.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports to: Principal, Student Services Coordinator, Nurse Supervisor

Provision of school health services to students and serve as a liaison between the school, the medical community and other agencies involved in the health and welfare of students.

Nine month contract (187 days).
