Title:
Teacher - CHS Level Up February Academy Teacher for Freshman & Sophomores
* This position has 8 openings (Algebra 1, Geometry, ELA, 9, ELA 10, US Hist 1, Biology, 2 ML)
CHS Level Up Academies:
CHS LEvel Up Academies are four-day vacation school programs designed to provide targeted academic support, credit recovery opportunities, and improved student outcomes. The February session will focus on 9th- and 10th-grade students who are struggling in one or two core content classes. This program will give students the opportunity to strengthen content skills, earn a second attempt on the Quarter 2 culminating task, improve their Q2 grades, and earn an elective credit.
Students will also be able recover absences by participating in this program.
General Duties:
The February Level Up Academy teacher responsibilities includes, but are not limited to:
* Compliance with DESE curriculum standards
* Communication/collaboration with applicable staff and stakeholders, specifically their direct Program Supervisors
* Creation and implementation of an instructional unit that builds towards the Q2 culminating task from that course
* Utilization of curricular resources/scope and sequence with additional materials created to meet the diverse needs of students
* Compliance with any and all special education requirements if applicable
Note:
These are minimum requirements. Teachers may expand upon any of these duties as they see fit, but must meet these daily requirements.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a current educator vious experience with vacation schools is preferred.
Compensation: $2,500 Stipend
Dates/Time:
February Acceleration Academy work and planning includes, but is not limited to, the February Acceleration schedule which is:
* Tuesday February 17th - Friday February 20th, from 8AM-2PM
Reports To:
Malik Howshan, Officer of Innovation, Access, and Opportunities and their direct Program Supervisors

Class sizes for substantially separate classrooms may range from 7 to 12 students, with rare exceptions based on programmatic needs.
