Title:
Teacher - February Middle School Acceleration Academy Teacher for Humanities (ELA and History)
* This position has
11 openings including one "Specials" educator, and 2 ML positions
General Duties:
The February Acceleration Academy Teacher for ELA responsibilities includes, but are not limited to:
* Compliance with DESE set standards for Acceleration Academy Instruction
* Communication/collaboration with applicable staff and stakeholders, specifically their direct Program Supervisors
* Participation in the Chelsea based PD for Acceleration Academies (see schedule below)
* Creation and implementation of instructional units
* Creation/collaboration of curricular resources/scope and sequence
* Compliance with any and all special education requirements if applicable
Note:
These are minimum requirements. Teachers may expand upon any of these duties as they see fit, but must meet these daily requirements.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a current educator in the CPS Middle Schools. Previous experience with Acceleration Academies is preferred.
Compensation: $3,000 Stipend
Dates/Time:
February Acceleration Academy work and planning includes, but is not limited to, the February Acceleration schedule which is:
* Tuesday February 17th - Friday February 20th, from 8AM-2:30PM
* Chelsea- based virtual 2 hr PD (date and time to be determined and shared)
Reports To:
Malik Howshan, Officer of Innovation, Access, and Opportunities and their direct Program Supervisors

Class sizes for substantially separate classrooms may range from 7 to 12 students, with rare exceptions based on programmatic needs.
