Job Responsibilities- Plan and assess curriculum and instruction.
- Teach assigned students in designated locations and times.
- Design study programs that address individual needs, interests, and abilities.
- Provide instruction support to struggling students in classroom and pull‑out settings.
- Implement daily focused, research‑based interventions using approved instructional materials.
- Communicate clear learning goals to students, using appropriate instructional techniques.
- Employ innovative instructional strategies and technology to enhance learning confidence.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and aligned with students’ maturity and interests.
- Promote high academic and behavioral expectations.
- Advance the district’s mission, philosophy, and instructional standards.
- Assess and document student progress, providing reports as required.
- Maintain accurate records per law, policy, and regulations.
- Assist administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
- Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when reasonable.
- Continue professional development relevant to the assignment and student grade.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Build cooperative relationships internally and externally.
- Maintain open communication about student progress.
- Promote equity and inclusion for all students, including those with special needs, 504 plans, and second‑language learners.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming learning environment free from discrimination.
- Support students with disabilities in a general‑education setting.
- Differentiate instruction for second‑language learners.
- Complete additional duties as determined by the Principal or designee.
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher licensure appropriate for grade and subject area.
- Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement for core content teachers.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Knowledge of MA Curriculum frameworks, instruction, and assessment.
- Familiarity with differentiated instruction and response to intervention.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Dual certification in ESL and/or Moderate Disabilities.
The school day is 6.5 hours, with longer hours possible for schools with an extended day. The school year consists of 184 days. Salary information can be found on the CPS website.
