Chelsea Elementary School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Educational Technician III to join our ABLE Program team for the 2026/2027 school year. The ABLE Program supports students in grades K–8 with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral or emotional challenges in a highly supportive educational environment focused on growth, communication, independence, and inclusion.

This position is ideal for someone who values teamwork, relationship-building, and creating meaningful learning experiences for students with diverse needs. This position is full time, 7.5 paid hours/day.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting students academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day
  • Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior plans, and instructional strategies under the direction of special education staff
  • Assisting students with communication, regulation, transitions, and daily routines
  • Helping maintain a safe, positive, and structured learning environment
  • Participating as an active member of a strong, team-oriented program
Qualifications
  • Appropriate State of Maine DOE Certification and CHRC authorization
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to implement behavior plans based on ABA principles
  • Flexibility, patience, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
