Salary: $25.29 to $40.35 per hour

Our Paraprofessionals support special education teachers in meeting the diverse needs of students with a range of disabilities. Responsibilities include classroom modifications, personal care, communication with staff, structure and feedback, and other duties as assigned.
Duties / Responsibilities- Provide daily instruction and programming under the supervision of the Classroom Teacher.
- Assist in all aspects of daily living skills including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and meal programs.
- Collect and record data on students’ progress and behavior.
- Assist teaching staff in preparation of reports.
- Attend all professional development programs as identified by Administration.
- Participate in the development of overall program curriculum as requested.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a learning environment designed to meet the needs of all students.
- Construct and prepare instructional materials where appropriate.
- Supervise students in all educational settings.
- Ensure student and staff safety.
- Assist program staff in implementing all aspects of the established behavior management system, including responding to students during classes, monitoring and setting limits on behavior during breaks, and monitoring and assisting students who are dysregulated, including appropriate physical management if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
Certification in Shore's approved behavioral safety training program (Safety Care or equivalent). Experience assisting students with learning disabilities, behavioral and social/emotional challenges is preferred.
Summer employment is possible, but not required. All school staff expected to manage behavior must maintain certification in the approved behavioral safety training program to meet state and federal requirements.
