Financial Manager
Position Summary
Director of Finance – 100% on‑site in Chelsea, MA. Responsible for overseeing the entire finance function of the facility, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective controls, and continuous development of the finance team.
Responsibilities- Timely and accurate reporting of facility financials on a monthly basis.
- Collaborate with site leadership, especially the general manager, to re‑forecast business performance and deliver reliable monthly forecasts.
- Maintain effectiveness of financial controls and ensure compliance with corporate governance.
- Learn and master Catalent accounting policies to ensure accurate P&L and balance sheet reporting.
- Direct and manage the accounting function, develop talent, and set challenging goals.
- Lead the local budgeting cycle, including revenue and cost budgeting at customer or account level.
- Compare performance with operating budgets, prior forecasts, and prior year results.
- Provide reports and interpret operational results to all levels of management.
- Coordinate systems, procedures, and special reports as required.
- Work with VP Finance to build and support the 5‑year strategic plan at the facility.
- Protect the business’s assets through internal control, internal auditing, and ensuring adequate insurance coverage.
- Assist business development with product pricing guidance to maximize margin potential.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (required). MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in financial analysis or market research within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (required).
- Experience with HFM – Oracle Hyperion Finance Management is desired.
- International experience or exposure preferred.
- Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (e.g., participation in NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, GROW) may be considered in lieu of external experience.
The anticipated salary range for this position in Massachusetts is $183,800‑250,000, plus an annual bonus target. Benefits include a generous 401k match, paid time off accrual, and medical, dental, and vision coverage effective day one of employment.
