Mortgage Administrator

Buying a home is one of the most important financial decisions our members make, and a smooth mortgage process starts long before closing. As a Mortgage Administrator, you play a critical role in ensuring loan files are accurate, complete, compliant, and moving efficiently through the mortgage pipeline.

This position serves as the operational foundation of our Mortgage team, supporting appraisal administration, loan setup, disclosure processing, membership account creation, and file review activities. Your work helps create a seamless experience for members while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Administration of appraisal requests and related workflows.

Review and setup of incoming mortgage loan files.

Completeness reviews to ensure required documentation is received and accurate.

Initial disclosure and Change of Circumstance (COC) processing.

Coordination of third-party service orders and related fees.

Membership account setup for new borrowers.

Monitoring mortgage compliance requirements and escalating concerns when identified.

Monitor appraisal requests and ensure submissions are addressed within established service timelines.

Review loan files for accuracy, completeness, and required borrower documentation.

Communicate with Mortgage Sales and Operations partners to obtain missing information and resolve file discrepancies.

Initiate and manage third-party vendor orders and related processing activities.

Open and fund Membership Savings Accounts for borrowers who are not existing Metro members.

Monitor disclosure pipelines and process initial disclosures and COCs in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Partner with mortgage staff and management to address data entry issues, system errors, and compliance concerns.

Identify potential compliance issues and escalate them appropriately.

Support additional administrative and operational activities as needed.

Loan setup, appraisal, and disclosure queues consistently meet service-level expectations.

Mortgage files move efficiently through the pipeline with minimal delays due to missing documentation.

Compliance requirements are met consistently and accurately.

Strong partnerships have been established with Mortgage Sales, Operations, and third-party vendors.

Members experience a smooth and timely loan process from application through closing.

Process improvements have enhanced operational efficiency and file accuracy.

High School Diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.

Minimum one year of related administrative, mortgage, banking, or financial services experience preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Previous mortgage lending, loan processing, or mortgage operations experience.

Familiarity with mortgage disclosures and regulatory requirements.

Experience reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness.

Credit union or banking experience.

Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
