Mortgage Processor
Purchasing a home is one of the most important financial decisions our members will make, and a seamless mortgage experience depends on strong operational execution behind the scenes. As a Mortgage Processor, you play a critical role in moving loan applications from approval to closing by ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
In this role, you serve as the central point of coordination between borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, real estate professionals, and closing attorneys. Your ability to manage multiple files, communicate proactively, and maintain compliance helps create an exceptional member experience while ensuring loans close efficiently and accurately.
What You'll Own
- Management of a pipeline of mortgage loan files from processing through closing.
- Collection, review, and validation of required loan documentation.
- Ongoing communication with borrowers and key stakeholders throughout the loan process.
- Tracking loan conditions, third-party documentation, and underwriting requirements.
- Maintaining compliance with Metro Credit Union policies and residential lending regulations.
- Ensuring loans progress efficiently while meeting established service levels and deadlines.
What You'll Do
- Manage a pipeline of up to 40 mortgage loans while meeting established turn times and closing deadlines.
- Process mortgage loan files in accordance with underwriting standards and lending guidelines.
- Order and obtain employment verifications, asset verifications, and other required documentation.
- Maintain regular communication with borrowers, providing updates and support throughout the mortgage process.
- Track appraisals, title work, approval conditions, and other documentation to ensure timely completion.
- Review incoming documentation for accuracy and completeness before submitting files for underwriting review.
- Maintain detailed communication logs and loan documentation records.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a smooth and timely closing experience.

- Consistently maintaining a healthy pipeline while meeting service-level expectations.
- Borrowers receive timely updates and exceptional service throughout the lending process.
- Loan files are submitted with complete and accurate documentation, minimizing delays.
- Compliance and quality standards are consistently met.
- Strong working relationships are established with loan officers, underwriters, attorneys, and real estate professionals.
- Mortgage closings are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Minimum of two years of mortgage processing experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of residential mortgage lending processes, documentation, and disclosures.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using mortgage loan origination systems, particularly Encompass LOS.
- Prior banking or credit union experience.
- Knowledge of residential lending regulations and compliance requirements.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Benefits, Hybrid Eligibility, and Compensation
- Compensation range: $23/hour - $31/hour (based on experience and qualifications).
- Hybrid eligible position.
- Minimum 3 days per week in office.
- New hires must be onsite 5 days per week during onboarding.
- Not eligible for a 4x10 schedule.
