We provide our nurses and ODPs with the training, support and staffing levels that enable them to provide the best care to patients.

We have seven modern theatres in Chelsea which includes three robotic theatres, and two theatres in Sutton. We cover a wide range of specialties, including Sarcoma and Melanoma, Upper and Lower GI, Plastics, Head and Neck, Gynaecology, Urology and Breast, using a wide range of surgical techniques. Our theatres anaesthetic team is trusted, skilled, hardworking and supportive, and we're looking for a motivated and experienced anaesthetic lead who can demonstrate leadership qualities and a real interest in high quality perioperative care to join us

Main duties of the job
  • To be a professional and clinical role model, leading and co-ordinating theatres and recovery in conjunction with the Matron. To co-ordinate, organise and take full responsibility and accountability for the daily management and organisation of theatres recovery services at Chelsea site; this involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities including staff management.
  • As the clinical lead, perform all the tasks of an ODP/Theatre Nurse in recovery for adults, following all checks and procedures as laid down in National and Trust Theatre Policy. To demonstrate sound knowledge base of safe governance and practices in recovery.
  • As a member of the recovery team to perform the tasks of recovery, to support staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team
  • To be responsible for the safe use of complex theatre and recovery equipment with responsibility for ordering stock and non-stock supplies and arranging timely servicing of this equipment, both routine and urgent.
  • To be responsible for the continuing specialist professional development and overall performance of all staff in Chelsea Theatres Recovery team.
  • Provide specialist clinical advice Trust wide to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/ clients and relatives/ carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the local and national targets.
